Who are LUNO SDS and what do they do?

LUNO SDS stands for Liberate and Unite New Orleans Students for a Democratic Society. SDS is a national multi-issue organization comprised of students who stand against racism, homophobia, police crimes, US war and intervention, women’s rights and reproductive rights, and much more! LUNO SDS is the chapter comprised of students from Loyola University New Orleans (LUNO SDS is not a registered student organization of Loyola University nor is it affiliated with the university). We meet on a weekly basis to discuss ongoing issues and plan events and actions.

What are the contents of this blog?

• Blog Posts
  • You will receive news updates of LUNO SDS, National SDS, and the local Louisiana community! From protests to teach-ins to organization meetings, there will be a review of it all here!
• Op-Eds
  • Here LUNO SDS members can post their opinion pieces on current or past events, important articles, or anything that they feel is necessary to speak on.
• Community Calendar
  • The community calendar has the dates and information regarding upcoming events in New Orleans. It does not include just LUNO SDS events, but any protests, rallies, or meetings of community organizations. </aside>
